| Life Master Steve Colding
Stephen Colding has been
teaching chess to children grades K-12 for over 25 years.
Organizations to whom he has consulted directly over the years
include:

- Manhattan Chess Club
- The New York Public
Library
- Chase Manhattan Bank
sports and Arts Festival (for 900 children in 50 schools)
- New York City Public
Schools (numerous)
- UNICEF's International
Children's Emergency Fund
- Children of the Chernobyl
Fund.
Additionally, Mr. Colding has
organized and directed many small, medium and large sized chess
tournaments for chess for children, including:
- The Right Move Monthly
Scholastic Tournament
- P.S.9 tournaments in
Manhattan
- Numerous private school
and public school tournaments
- The Children of Chernobyl
Fund Tournament (a UNICEF-sponsored event featuring World
Champion Anatoly Karpov)
- Elmhurst Hospital
Mr. Colding is a National
Life Master from the United States and he is ranked internationally
by the International Chess Federation and acted as an Assistant
International Arbiter.

Chess Instructor Debbie Davis
Debbie Davis has taught
thousands of youngsters how to play chess in her career. Chess
programs that Ms. Davis has worked for include:

- Sports and Arts in the
Schools ( *named Teacher of the Year)

- Miracle-makers
- Horace Mann
and countless others.
Debbie Davis brings a wealth of
experience for her specialty that of teaching the novice player.
Debbie Davis's gentle and attentive manner helps even the most
tentative beginners. Debbie also has experience as a tournament
director and organizer form these organizations:
Chappaqua chess tournaments
The Right Move
Chase Festival
Sports of the Mind
and has worked very closely
with Mr. Colding on many projects including the Chess for Chernobyl
tournament.
